Belgian Grand Prix 2026: Red Bull rear wing change

Red Bull is reported to be switching to a more conventional rear wing for the Belgian Grand Prix after Max Verstappen’s recent crashes. BBC Sport reported the team planned the change for Spa, while Autosport said Red Bull had dropped its newer upside-down concept and would return to its original 2026 specification. BBC Sport also reported Verstappen described the wing failure linked to the crashes as "super-dangerous". Verstappen arrives seventh in the 2026 drivers' championship on 91 points, and the Dutch driver’s career record stands at 71 wins, 51 poles and 129 podiums from 242 Formula 1 starts.

Motorsport.com separately reported Verstappen later joked about F1’s "jungle" after avoiding what it described as an "airplane shunt" at Spa. Red Bull, founded in 2005, has won 130 Grands Prix and six constructors’ titles through 2026.
