Red Bull probes Verstappen wing failures
Reports say Red Bull is reviewing Max Verstappen’s rear wing failures after back-to-back crashes, while the FIA has also sought more information.
Red Bull is reported to be reviewing the rear wing failures linked to Max Verstappen’s crashes at two consecutive grands prix. Autosport reported that the team began its own investigation after Silverstone, while BBC Sport reported that Verstappen described the latest failure as dangerous. Autosport also reported that Verstappen said the two incidents had different faults despite a similar outcome.
The FIA has also sought more information, according to reports from Autosport and Motorsport.com, which both said the governing body contacted Red Bull and Ferrari as part of checks into rotating wings. No official finding on the cause has been confirmed.
Verstappen, 28, is seventh in the 2026 drivers’ championship on 76 points. Across 242 Formula 1 starts, he has 71 wins, 51 poles and 129 podiums, while Red Bull has won 130 Grands Prix and six constructors’ titles.
