Audi has reportedly told the FIA it plans to appeal Yuki Tsunoda’s non-penalty after the Italian Grand Prix restart at Monza, according to reports.

Audi has reportedly notified the FIA of its intention to appeal the stewards’ decision not to penalise Yuki Tsunoda after the 2026 Italian Grand Prix. Autosport, Motorsport.com and RaceFans each reported that the team is challenging the no-action verdict, so the matter remains a reported development rather than a confirmed outcome.

Those reports said the case centres on the lap 6 restart at Monza, after Charles Leclerc’s lap 2 accident brought out a red flag. Motorsport.com and Autosport reported that Tsunoda lined up in the correct 14th grid slot but stopped at an angle toward the inside wall, prompting an FIA investigation before stewards opted not to issue a sanction.

Tsunoda, a Japanese driver born on 11 May 2000, competed in Formula 1 from 2021 to 2025 and is listed with Red Bull in the supplied season context. He is currently 20th in the 2026 drivers’ standings on one point, which gives the reported appeal added weight if the FIA takes the case forward.
