Max Verstappen took pole position for the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix on 9 March 2024 with a Q3 lap of 1:27.472 at Jeddah Corniche Circuit. Charles Leclerc qualified second for Ferrari, 0.319s behind Verstappen on a 1:27.791.

Qualifying

Sergio Pérez secured third for Red Bull with a best Q3 time of 1:27.807, 0.016s behind Leclerc. Fernando Alonso placed fourth for Aston Martin on 1:27.846, leaving the top four covered by 0.374s from pole.

McLaren put both cars in the top six as Oscar Piastri qualified fifth with 1:28.089 and Lando Norris took sixth with 1:28.132. Mercedes followed with George Russell seventh on 1:28.316 and Lewis Hamilton eighth on 1:28.460.

Top 10 grid

Yuki Tsunoda reached Q3 for RB F1 Team and qualified ninth with a 1:28.547. Lance Stroll completed the top 10 for Aston Martin with a Q3 lap of 1:28.572.

All 10 drivers in the top 10 reached Q3 in qualifying for round 2 of the 2024 season. Red Bull placed two cars in the top three, Aston Martin put Alonso fourth and Stroll 10th, and McLaren started from fifth and sixth on the grid.
