2026 Dutch GP sprint: Russell reported winner

Reports from Zandvoort say George Russell won the 2026 Dutch Grand Prix sprint from pole, with Charles Leclerc second and Lando Norris third.

George Russell is being reported as the winner of the 2026 Dutch Grand Prix sprint at Zandvoort. BBC Sport said the Mercedes driver started from sprint pole ahead of Lando Norris and Charles Leclerc, while Autosport reported that Russell led throughout the race.

Autosport also reported that Leclerc passed Norris for second, leaving the Ferrari driver behind Russell and the McLaren driver in third. Its account described the result as Russell’s third Saturday victory of the 2026 season.

If confirmed, the sprint would strengthen Russell’s 2026 campaign from second place in the drivers' championship on 183 points. Russell, born on 15 February 1998, came into the season with 161 Formula 1 starts and seven grands prix wins, while Mercedes had 138 wins across 19 seasons.
