Red Bull questions grow as Hadjar gains ground

News - 2026-07-13 - By Jenny Marsh

Reports after Silverstone linked Max Verstappen’s frustration to Red Bull’s wider 2026 questions, while Isack Hadjar’s progress drew fresh attention.

Questions around Red Bull’s 2026 driver picture have grown after Silverstone, but nothing has been confirmed. Autosport reported that Max Verstappen left the weekend frustrated and that Red Bull’s current power-unit weaknesses could also matter at Spa, while Motorsport.com carried outside opinions that he may consider his options. Verstappen, a 71-time Grand Prix winner, is seventh in the 2026 drivers’ championship on 76 points.

At the same time, Formula1.com reported that Isack Hadjar continued to progress at Silverstone and earned praise from team boss Christian Horner. The outlet also said Hadjar has pushed Verstappen more closely than recent Red Bull team-mates and could keep improving. Hadjar is eighth in the standings on 52 points and has one podium from 33 Formula 1 starts.

BBC Sport also examined Yuki Tsunoda’s 2026 situation in an Ask Me Anything feature. With Verstappen’s future still only the subject of outside reporting, Hadjar’s form improving and Tsunoda still part of the discussion, Red Bull’s line-up remains a closely watched topic.
