Qatar Grand Prix 2025: Piastri takes pole
Oscar Piastri took pole for the 2025 Qatar Grand Prix by 0.108s from Lando Norris, with McLaren locking out the front row at Losail.
Oscar Piastri took pole position for the Qatar Grand Prix at the Losail International Circuit on 30 November 2025 with a Q3 lap of 1:19.387. Lando Norris qualified second for McLaren, 0.108s behind, as the team locked out the front row.
Qualifying
Max Verstappen qualified third for Red Bull with a Q3 time of 1:19.651. George Russell took fourth for Mercedes on 1:19.662, and Andrea Kimi Antonelli completed the top five for Mercedes with 1:19.846.
Piastri had also led the McLaren effort through the session after posting 1:20.234 in Q1 and 1:19.650 in Q2. Norris recorded 1:20.157 in Q1 and 1:19.861 in Q2 before his 1:19.495 in Q3 secured second place.
Top 10
Isack Hadjar qualified sixth for RB F1 Team with a Q3 lap of 1:20.114. Carlos Sainz took seventh for Williams on 1:20.287, while Fernando Alonso placed eighth for Aston Martin with 1:20.418.
Pierre Gasly secured ninth for Alpine F1 Team with a Q3 time of 1:20.477. Charles Leclerc completed the top 10 for Ferrari with a 1:20.561 lap in Q3.
