Azerbaijan GP 2026: Norris cautious despite form

News - 2026-09-24 - By Jenny Marsh

Formula1.com reported Lando Norris feels he is performing better than last year, but heads to the 2026 Azerbaijan Grand Prix with caution.

Formula1.com reported that Lando Norris believes he is doing some things better than he did last year after an improved recent run, but is approaching the Azerbaijan Grand Prix with caution. Norris arrives at the 2026 Baku weekend fourth in the drivers' championship on 186 points for McLaren.

According to the same report, Norris said Azerbaijan is the race weekend he has been least looking forward to. Those remarks are reported comments rather than directly confirmed here, but they add a more guarded note before the event.

The 26-year-old has raced in Formula 1 with McLaren since 2019 and, across 161 Grands Prix, has recorded 11 wins and 16 pole positions. That record gives added context to his latest self-assessment as he prepares for another round in Baku.
