Paul Aron lined up for Alpine Monza FP1 run

Formula1.com reported Paul Aron is due to drive for Alpine in Monza FP1, while BBC Sport, Autosport and RaceFans reported Franco Colapinto will stay for 2027.

Formula1.com reported that Alpine reserve driver Paul Aron is set for another Free Practice 1 outing at the Italian Grand Prix in Monza. The report said Aron will drive in Friday’s opening session for Alpine.

Separate reports also pointed to Alpine’s 2027 race line-up. BBC Sport reported Franco Colapinto will remain with the team next season, with Autosport and RaceFans also reporting that Alpine plans to keep Colapinto alongside Pierre Gasly.

Colapinto, born on 27 May 2003, is 12th in the 2026 drivers’ standings on 19 points and has made 36 Formula 1 starts with a best finish of sixth. Gasly is 10th on 44 points; the French driver has 187 entries, one win and six podiums.
