Lando Norris won the Monaco Grand Prix 2025 from pole by 3.131s over Charles Leclerc, cutting Oscar Piastri's drivers' championship lead to three points.
Lando Norris won the Monaco Grand Prix on 25 May 2025, beating Charles Leclerc by 3.131 seconds after starting from pole at Circuit de Monaco. Norris also set the fastest lap in 1:13.221 on lap 78 as McLaren placed two cars on the podium.
Race
Norris completed the race in 1:40:33.843 for McLaren, while Leclerc finished second for Ferrari and Oscar Piastri took third for McLaren at +3.658. Max Verstappen finished fourth for Red Bull at +20.572, and Lewis Hamilton climbed from seventh on the grid to fifth for Ferrari at +51.387.
Behind the top five, Isack Hadjar took sixth for RB F1 Team from fifth on the grid and was classified one lap down. Esteban Ocon finished seventh for Haas F1 Team after starting eighth, Liam Lawson came home eighth for RB F1 Team from ninth, Alexander Albon was ninth for Williams from 10th, and Carlos Sainz scored the final point in 10th after starting 11th.
Championship picture
The result left Oscar Piastri leading the drivers' championship after round 8 on 161 points. Norris moved to 158 points with the win, while Verstappen stayed third on 136 points.
Key movers
Hamilton made the biggest gain among the top five by moving from seventh on the grid to fifth at the flag. Albon and Sainz also each gained one place from their starting positions, while the top four finished in the same order in which they started.
