Monaco Grand Prix 2025: Norris takes pole
Lando Norris took Monaco Grand Prix 2025 pole for McLaren by 0.109s over Charles Leclerc, with Oscar Piastri third and McLaren leading the grid.
Lando Norris took pole position for the Monaco Grand Prix on 25 May 2025 with a 1:09.954 lap in Q3 at Circuit de Monaco. Charles Leclerc qualified second for Ferrari, 0.109s behind Norris with a 1:10.063.
Qualifying
Oscar Piastri placed third for McLaren with a 1:10.129 in Q3, putting two McLaren cars in the top three for round 8. Lewis Hamilton qualified fourth for Ferrari on a 1:10.382, while Max Verstappen took fifth for Red Bull with a 1:10.669.
Norris had already led the session phases for McLaren with a 1:10.570 in Q2 after a 1:11.285 in Q1. Leclerc opened with the quickest Q1 time of 1:11.229 before recording 1:10.581 in Q2 and 1:10.063 in Q3.
Top 10
Isack Hadjar secured sixth for RB F1 Team with a 1:10.923, and Fernando Alonso followed in seventh for Aston Martin on 1:10.924, just 0.001s slower. Esteban Ocon qualified eighth for Haas F1 Team with a 1:10.942, ahead of Liam Lawson in ninth for RB F1 Team on 1:11.129.
Alexander Albon completed the top 10 for Williams with a 1:11.213 in Q3 after posting 1:10.732 in Q2. All 10 listed drivers reached Q3 in the qualifying session for the Monaco Grand Prix 2025.
