Monaco GP 2026 appeal set for FIA hearing

McLaren and Red Bull are reported to be appealing the Monaco Grand Prix result, with the FIA due to hear a case over Pierre Gasly’s reinstated podium.

McLaren and Red Bull are reported to be appealing the 2026 Monaco Grand Prix result, with the FIA’s International Court of Appeal due to hear the case on Tuesday. Autosport and Motorsport.com reported that the challenge concerns the decision to reinstate Pierre Gasly’s podium after the race.

Autosport reported that Gasly crossed the line third on 7 June, but two five-second penalties for pitlane speeding initially dropped the Alpine driver to seventh before that podium was restored. The same reports said McLaren team principal Andrea Stella linked the appeal to concerns about fairness and the integrity of the sport.

Gasly is currently 10th in the 2026 drivers’ championship on 44 points. The French driver has made 187 Formula 1 entries and scored one win and six podiums, while Red Bull, also involved in the reported appeal, is a six-time constructors’ champion.
