2026 Monaco Grand Prix: Gasly podium lost in appeal

Those reports said McLaren and Red Bull succeeded with appeals against the Monaco result, undoing the decision that had restored the Alpine driver to third.

According to BBC Sport and Autosport, the dispute followed multiple incorrect pit-lane speeding penalties issued during the race. Autosport reported that Gasly had been put back onto the podium in the week after Monaco when his penalty was overturned, but the appeal ruling reversed that outcome.

Motorsport.com reported that the decision also changed the championship standings. Gasly is 10th in the 2026 drivers’ championship on 44 points, and the French driver has 187 Formula 1 entries, one win and six podiums.
