Monaco 2026 debate meets calendar uncertainty
BBC Sport, Autosport and RaceFans reported fresh debate over Monaco, a summer-break call on a 2026 race slot and a new step in Felipe Massa’s case.
Monaco and the 2026 Formula 1 calendar are both part of fresh reported discussion. BBC Sport reported that the 2026 rules could change the character of the Monaco Grand Prix, where overtaking is typically limited, and also revisited the event’s history with an image feature stretching back to the championship’s first season in 1950.
Away from Monaco, Autosport reported that Formula 1 wants to decide before the summer break whether it can restore one of its postponed Middle Eastern rounds to the 2026 schedule, with Bahrain or Saudi Arabia named in that report. RaceFans separately reported that Bahrain is still pushing to hold its cancelled race in October.
RaceFans also reported that Felipe Massa’s legal claim over the 2008 Singapore Grand Prix is heading to the UK Supreme Court. Any wider effect on Formula 1 remains unconfirmed, and at this stage is part of that outlet’s reporting rather than an established outcome.
