Andrea Kimi Antonelli took pole position for the Miami Grand Prix on 3 May 2026 with a 1:27.798 lap for Mercedes. Max Verstappen qualified second for Red Bull, 0.166s slower on a 1:27.964, while Charles Leclerc secured third for Ferrari with a 1:28.143.
Qualifying
Lando Norris qualified fourth for McLaren with a 1:28.183 in Q3, and George Russell completed the top five for Mercedes on 1:28.197. Lewis Hamilton placed the second Ferrari sixth with a 1:28.319, while Oscar Piastri took seventh for McLaren on 1:28.500.
Further back in Q3, Franco Colapinto qualified eighth for Alpine F1 Team with a 1:28.762 and Pierre Gasly followed in ninth on 1:28.810. Nico Hülkenberg was classified 10th for Audi after reaching Q2 with a 1:29.439 and not setting a Q3 lap.
Top 10
Mercedes placed two cars in the top five through Antonelli on pole and Russell in fifth at the Miami International Autodrome. Ferrari also put both cars in the top six with Leclerc third and Hamilton sixth, while Alpine F1 Team advanced both Colapinto and Gasly into the top nine.
Grid impact
Antonelli led the grid after topping Q3, having also progressed through Q1 in 1:28.653 and Q2 in 1:28.289. Verstappen improved from 1:29.099 in Q1 to 1:28.116 in Q2 before taking second, and Hülkenberg remained the highest-placed driver outside the Q3 shootout in 10th.
