Lando Norris took pole for the Mexico City Grand Prix on 26 October 2025, leading Charles Leclerc by 0.262s as Ferrari placed two cars in the top three.
Lando Norris took pole position for the Mexico City Grand Prix at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez with a 1:15.586 lap, 0.262s clear of Charles Leclerc. The qualifying session set the grid for round 20 of the 2025 season on 26 October 2025.
Qualifying
Norris led the session for McLaren with a progression of 1:16.899 in Q1, 1:16.252 in Q2 and 1:15.586 in Q3. Leclerc secured second for Ferrari with a 1:15.848 in Q3 after laps of 1:17.024 and 1:16.658 in the first two segments.
Lewis Hamilton qualified third for Ferrari with a 1:15.938, which put both Ferrari drivers inside the top three. George Russell took fourth for Mercedes on 1:16.034, while Max Verstappen placed fifth for Red Bull on 1:16.070.
Front-row fight
The gap from Norris to Leclerc at the front was 0.262s on the final Q3 times. Hamilton trailed pole by 0.352s, and Russell was 0.448s away from Norris's benchmark.
Andrea Kimi Antonelli completed the top six for Mercedes with a 1:16.118 in Q3. Carlos Sainz qualified seventh for Williams on 1:16.172, Oscar Piastri was eighth for McLaren on 1:16.174, Isack Hadjar took ninth for RB F1 Team on 1:16.252, and Oliver Bearman completed the top 10 for Haas F1 Team on 1:16.460.

McLaren placed Norris on pole and Oscar Piastri eighth on the grid for Sunday. Ferrari started with Leclerc second and Hamilton third, while Mercedes lined up Russell fourth and Antonelli sixth for round 20 at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez.
