Formula 1 and the FIA have confirmed the 2026 Bahrain Grand Prix will be held at Sepang on 2-4 October, returning Malaysia to the calendar.

Formula 1 and the FIA have confirmed that the 2026 Bahrain Grand Prix will be held at Sepang International Circuit in October. Formula1.com announced Malaysia as the host, while Autosport and Motorsport.com reported the event is scheduled for 2-4 October.

The move puts Formula 1 back at Sepang for the first time since 2017, according to Autosport and Motorsport.com. BBC Sport reported that Malaysia will stage the race as a replacement for the Bahrain round that was called off earlier in the season.

RaceFans reported that the Bahrain Grand Prix has been moved to October but will take place around 6,000 kilometres from its usual venue. Autosport and Motorsport.com also reported that disruption to the original Middle East schedule led to the switch.
