Autosport and Motorsport.com also reported that the 5.4km semi-permanent layout around the IFEMA fairgrounds could be revised before the 2027 event, with both outlets saying organisers have already received recommendations from the FIA.

The criticism focused on limited overtaking in Formula 1’s first race on the track. Autosport and Motorsport.com reported that several drivers called for layout changes after the weekend, while RaceFans reported that drivers criticised the design after a processional race.

Those reports said organisers want to improve the racing while keeping the basic character of the circuit. Motorsport.com added that the event itself ran smoothly, but that the layout left drivers and fans wanting more action ahead of Madrid’s next Spanish Grand Prix.
