Formula1.com reported that the sport’s drivers are preparing for a brand-new circuit, while BBC Sport and Motorsport.com both said the race marks Madrid’s arrival on the calendar after Jarama last hosted F1 in 1981.

Formula1.com reported that drivers had their first reactions to the new venue before running there, and Autosport also covered feedback on the layout. Motorsport.com said the Madrid event is the 14th round of the 2026 season and reported that the Madring will host 57 laps, while RaceFans reported that drivers got their first look at the completed circuit ahead of practice.

Autosport and Motorsport.com both reported that Madrid is set for a 10-year spell as host of the Spanish Grand Prix, with Barcelona remaining on the 2026 calendar under a different name.
