Antonelli fastest in Madrid FP3 after two crashes

Andrea Kimi Antonelli led Madrid FP3 before Spanish Grand Prix qualifying, with Charles Leclerc next after red flags for Lewis Hamilton and Oliver Bearman.

Andrea Kimi Antonelli set the quickest time in final practice for the 2026 Spanish Grand Prix in Madrid, with Charles Leclerc second, Formula1.com reported. Formula1.com also said the session was red-flagged twice after separate crashes for Lewis Hamilton and Oliver Bearman.

RaceFans reported the stoppage for Bearman’s accident led to barrier repairs and delayed the end of the session. Autosport and Motorsport.com also reported that Antonelli finished the hour on top ahead of qualifying at the Madring.

Antonelli went into the weekend leading the 2026 drivers' championship on 267 points. Hamilton arrived third on 191, while Bearman was 13th on 18; Antonelli’s Formula 1 record stands at 33 entries, five wins, five poles and 10 podiums.
