Liam Lawson future talk stays unconfirmed

News - 2026-08-04 - By Jenny Marsh

Liam Lawson’s Red Bull future remains unconfirmed in current reports, with Racing Bulls’ 2026 lineup and Arvid Lindblad’s progress also in view.

Liam Lawson’s position within the Red Bull driver pool remains a matter of reported discussion rather than a confirmed change. BBC Sport, in a piece about Yuki Tsunoda’s 2026 outlook, looked at what comes next across Red Bull’s wider lineup, while Motorsport.com’s recent Racing Bulls coverage has kept attention on Lawson’s current situation.

Motorsport.com reported that Racing Bulls team principal Alan Permane advised Lawson and Arvid Lindblad to study Max Verstappen’s radio communications. The outlet also described Lawson and Lindblad as the least experienced lineup on the 2026 grid. Lawson, a 44-start Formula 1 driver across three teams from 2023 to 2026, is ninth in the drivers’ championship on 43 points, while Lindblad is 11th on 23.

In a separate report, Motorsport.com covered Racing Bulls’ behind-the-scenes video from Lindblad’s first home British Grand Prix weekend. Lindblad has entered nine races in 2026 and his best finish is seventh. None of those reports confirmed a move for Lawson, so any talk about his Red Bull future remains unconfirmed.
