Max Verstappen won the Japanese Grand Prix 2025 by 1.423s from Lando Norris, while Norris left Suzuka leading the drivers' championship by one point.
Max Verstappen won the Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka Circuit on 6 April 2025, finishing 1.423 seconds ahead of Lando Norris. Oscar Piastri took third for McLaren, 2.129 seconds behind the winner.
Race
Verstappen converted P1 on the grid into 25 points for Red Bull with a race time of 1:22:06.983. Norris finished second for McLaren from P2 on the grid, while Piastri stayed third from third on the grid to complete a double podium for the team.
Charles Leclerc finished fourth for Ferrari from fourth on the grid at +16.097, and George Russell took fifth for Mercedes from fifth at +17.362. Andrea Kimi Antonelli followed in sixth for Mercedes from sixth on the grid at +18.671, while Lewis Hamilton gained one place from eighth to seventh for Ferrari and finished +29.182 behind the winner.
Isack Hadjar dropped from seventh on the grid to eighth for RB F1 Team at +37.134. Alexander Albon stayed ninth for Williams from ninth on the grid, and Oliver Bearman remained 10th for Haas F1 Team from 10th to collect the final point.
Championship
Norris left round 3 leading the drivers' championship on 62 points. Verstappen moved to 61 points with the Suzuka win, leaving him one point behind Norris, while Piastri held third on 49 points.

Antonelli set the fastest lap in 1:30.965 on lap 50. The Mercedes driver finished sixth at Suzuka.
