Charles Leclerc led Lewis Hamilton in first practice for the 2026 Italian Grand Prix at Monza, with multiple outlets reporting a Ferrari one-two.

Charles Leclerc finished first practice for the 2026 Italian Grand Prix at the top of the times, ahead of Lewis Hamilton, with Formula1.com and BBC Sport both reporting a Ferrari one-two at Monza. Formula1.com’s live coverage also recorded the opening session of the weekend at the Italian circuit.

Autosport and Motorsport.com reported that Leclerc’s best lap was 1m23.008s and that it was set on medium tyres. RaceFans also reported Leclerc fastest in the session, while noting lower top speeds in hot conditions at Monza.

The session came at Ferrari’s home Grand Prix with both drivers inside the top five of the 2026 drivers’ championship. Leclerc arrived fifth on 155 points and Hamilton third on 183, while Leclerc’s Formula 1 career tally stood at 9 wins, 24 poles and 53 podiums.
