2026 Hungarian GP: upgrades, tyres and forecast

Aston Martin and McLaren head into the 2026 Hungarian Grand Prix with reported upgrade plans, as tyre choices and the weekend forecast are published.

Aston Martin is due to roll out a chassis upgrade package at the Hungarian Grand Prix, according to Formula1.com. McLaren is also set to evaluate a new rear wing in practice as part of a broader update, as reported by Autosport and Motorsport.com. Oscar Piastri arrives at the Hungaroring sixth in the drivers' championship on 92 points.

Formula1.com has also published the weather outlook for the Hungaroring weekend and confirmed that Pirelli has set the tyre compounds for the 2026 event. Motorsport.com reported that Budapest hosts round 11 of the season and the last race before the summer break.

Off track, Formula1.com has released early betting pieces for the weekend, while BBC Sport and RaceFans have published viewing information for 24-26 July. Aston Martin, still without a Formula 1 race win or constructors' title across its eight active seasons from 1959 to 2026, will be one of the teams under close watch when running begins.
