2026 Hungarian GP: Stroll misses FP2 after damage

Reports from Hungary said Lance Stroll missed FP2 after suspension damage from an FP1 stoppage, while Ferrari set the pace in both Friday sessions.

Reports from the Hungarian Grand Prix said Lance Stroll did not take part in Friday’s second practice after damage from his first-session stoppage. Motorsport.com reported that the Aston Martin driver sustained suspension damage in FP1, where his car triggered a red flag, and said the team had brought a heavily revised package to Budapest.

The same outlet reported that Charles Leclerc was quickest in FP1, more than four tenths ahead of Max Verstappen, with Lewis Hamilton third. Later, RaceFans reported that Hamilton led FP2, leaving Ferrari fastest in both Friday sessions through its two drivers. Stroll arrived at the weekend with 200 Grands Prix, one pole position, three podiums and a best finish of third, and he was 22nd in the 2026 drivers’ championship on 0 points.
