2026 Hungarian GP: Ferrari pace, Norris in FP3

BBC Sport and Autosport reported Ferrari led early Hungarian GP practice before Lando Norris topped FP3, with incidents for Franco Colapinto and Lance Stroll.

Friday practice at the 2026 Hungarian Grand Prix produced reported pace from Ferrari, McLaren and Mercedes ahead of qualifying. BBC Sport reported that Lewis Hamilton led Charles Leclerc in Friday running overall, while Autosport reported Leclerc topped FP1, Hamilton headed FP2 and Lando Norris set the quickest FP3 lap with a 1m18.939s effort.

Hamilton arrived in Hungary second in the drivers' championship on 169 points, with Leclerc fourth on 138. Ferrari also came into the weekend with 250 Formula 1 wins and 16 constructors’ titles across 77 seasons.

Autosport also reported several incidents through the sessions. Franco Colapinto crashed in FP2, while Lance Stroll’s upgraded Aston Martin stopped in FP1 with what Autosport described as a suspected suspension failure. The same outlet reported George Russell complained about rear balance, Kimi Antonelli locked a rear tyre, and Leclerc had a lock-up during Friday running.
