2026 Hungarian GP FP2: Hamilton leads Ferrari 1-2

Lewis Hamilton headed Charles Leclerc in Ferrari’s FP2 one-two at the 2026 Hungarian Grand Prix, capping a fast Friday at the Hungaroring.

Lewis Hamilton set the pace in second practice for the 2026 Hungarian Grand Prix, with Charles Leclerc second as Ferrari locked out the top two in FP2. Formula1.com and BBC Sport both reported the Ferrari one-two at the Hungaroring. Hamilton arrived in Hungary second in the drivers’ championship on 159 points, while Leclerc started the weekend fourth on 126.

Autosport and Motorsport.com also reported a disrupted session behind Ferrari. Both outlets said Franco Colapinto brought out red flags after a crash, while George Russell reported rear-balance trouble and Kimi Antonelli dealt with rear locking. Leclerc was also reported to have locked a front tyre at Turn 1 before ending the session second.

RaceFans reported that Ferrari finished Friday fastest in both practice sessions, extending a strong start to the weekend for the team. Ferrari came into the event as Formula 1’s longest-running constructor, with 77 seasons and 16 constructors’ titles.
