Hungarian GP 2026: Colapinto crash reported in FP2
Autosport and Motorsport.com reported Franco Colapinto crashed in Hungarian GP FP2, bringing out red flags as Lewis Hamilton led Ferrari's 1-2.
Autosport and Motorsport.com reported that Franco Colapinto crashed during second practice for the 2026 Hungarian Grand Prix, bringing out red flags at the Hungaroring. The same reports said Lewis Hamilton set the pace for Ferrari ahead of Charles Leclerc in FP2.
Both outlets also described a slippery session with several drivers struggling for balance or braking. They reported George Russell complained of rear balance, Kimi Antonelli dealt with rear locking, and Leclerc had a lock-up at Turn 1 before ending the session second.
Colapinto is 12th in the 2026 drivers' championship on 19 points. The Argentine, born on 27 May 2003, has entered 36 Formula 1 races and his best finish is sixth.
