Lando Norris won the 2025 Hungarian Grand Prix by 0.698s from Oscar Piastri as McLaren secured a 1-2 and cut Piastri's drivers' lead to nine points.

Lando Norris won the 2025 Hungarian Grand Prix at the Hungaroring by 0.698 seconds from Oscar Piastri. McLaren finished first and second in round 14, while Piastri left Hungary still leading the drivers' championship on 284 points to Norris's 275.

Race

Norris started third and took his win in 1:35:21.231, with Piastri converting second on the grid into second at the flag for 18 points. George Russell finished third for Mercedes from fourth on the grid, 21.916 seconds behind the winner, and he also set the fastest lap on lap 45 in 1:19.409.

Charles Leclerc started from pole position for Ferrari but fell to fourth at the finish, 42.560 seconds off the lead. Fernando Alonso held fifth for Aston Martin from fifth on the grid, while Gabriel Bortoleto gained one place from seventh to sixth for Sauber.

Lance Stroll finished seventh for Aston Martin after starting sixth, and Liam Lawson climbed from ninth to eighth for RB F1 Team. Max Verstappen took ninth for Red Bull from eighth on the grid, while Andrea Kimi Antonelli recovered from 15th to 10th for Mercedes and was classified one lap down.

Championship

Piastri remained first in the drivers' championship after the race with 284 points. Norris moved to 275 points in second after taking 25 points for the win, while Verstappen stayed third in the standings on 187 points.
