Lando Norris took pole position for the Hungarian Grand Prix at the Hungaroring with a 1:17.207 in Q3, beating Lewis Hamilton by 0.012s in round 11 on 26 July 2026. Hamilton put Ferrari on the front row with a 1:17.219, while Charles Leclerc made it two Ferraris in the top three with a 1:17.445.
Qualifying
Norris led the session for McLaren with Q1, Q2 and Q3 times of 1:18.277, 1:17.456 and 1:17.207. Hamilton progressed with 1:18.730 in Q1 and 1:17.803 in Q2 before his 1:17.219 in Q3 left him second for Ferrari.
Leclerc secured third for Ferrari after laps of 1:18.984, 1:17.626 and 1:17.445 across the three segments. Andrea Kimi Antonelli took fourth for Mercedes with a 1:17.479 in Q3, and Oscar Piastri placed fifth for McLaren with a 1:17.684.
Front row
The front row paired Norris for McLaren with Hamilton for Ferrari, separated by 0.012s on their final Q3 times. Behind them, Leclerc started third, Antonelli fourth and Piastri fifth, making the first five positions McLaren, Ferrari, Ferrari, Mercedes and McLaren.
