2026 Hungarian GP: weather, tyres, McLaren FP1

Formula 1 heads to the 2026 Hungarian Grand Prix with the latest weather outlook, Pirelli tyre compounds and a McLaren FP1 run for Leonardo Fornaroli.

Formula1.com reported that the weather forecast for the Hungarian Grand Prix weekend at the Hungaroring is now available, and that Pirelli has confirmed the tyre compounds for the 2026 event. The same outlet also reported that McLaren will give Leonardo Fornaroli his second Formula 1 practice appearance in Friday’s FP1 session in Hungary, while introducing an update package on the MCL40.

The McLaren programme adds extra interest to the opening session as the team gathers data on both a rookie outing and new parts. Oscar Piastri arrives for the weekend sixth in the drivers' championship on 92 points, underlining the value of track time as McLaren works through its Friday plan.

McLaren’s name remains tied to one of Formula 1’s long-running teams: founder Bruce McLaren made 103 world championship entries as a driver, with four wins and 27 podiums between 1958 and 1970.
