Honda update linked to Zandvoort Aston Martin debut
Autosport, Motorsport.com and RaceFans report Honda’s first 2026 F1 power unit update is set for Zandvoort with Aston Martin, pending official confirmation.
Honda’s first Formula 1 power unit update of 2026 is being linked with the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort, though the timing remains unconfirmed. Autosport and Motorsport.com both reported that Aston Martin is expected to introduce the revised Honda unit there, while RaceFans referenced Honda’s explanation of the Zandvoort “spec 2” changes.
Autosport also reported that Aston Martin planned to run the new Honda power unit during a filming day at the Hungaroring on Wednesday before the Dutch Grand Prix. The same outlet, along with Motorsport.com, said Aston Martin had already brought its first major AMR26 upgrade package in Hungary.
For context, Honda was founded in 1948 and raced in Formula 1 across eight seasons from 1964 to 2008, taking three wins and no titles. Aston Martin, active across eight seasons from 1959 to 2026, is still chasing its first race win and constructors' championship.
