Honda 2026 F1 upgrade reported for Zandvoort

Autosport reports Honda plans its first 2026 F1 power unit update at Zandvoort, with Aston Martin still working through reported driveability issues.

Autosport reports Honda is preparing its first power unit update of the 2026 Formula 1 season for Zandvoort. The same outlet said Aston Martin had already introduced its first major AMR26 chassis package in Hungary, with that update reported to have reduced some of the car's deficit.

In a separate report, Autosport said Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll received Honda's second-specification V6 power unit. It also reported that Alonso said more work was needed to optimise the engine after driveability problems in sprint qualifying at Zandvoort.

Honda was founded in 1948 and, as a Formula 1 constructor, competed across eight seasons from 1964 to 2008, taking three wins and no titles. Aston Martin is in its eighth active F1 season across 1959-2026 and is still chasing its first race win and first constructors' title.
