Dutch Grand Prix 2026: Lawson replaces Hadjar

Reports said a wrist injury sidelined Isack Hadjar for the Dutch Grand Prix, before Red Bull confirmed Liam Lawson as his stand-in at Zandvoort.

Autosport and Motorsport.com reported that Isack Hadjar was dealing with a wrist injury sustained during a gym session, putting his Dutch Grand Prix weekend in doubt. Autosport then reported that Red Bull officially confirmed Liam Lawson as Hadjar’s replacement for Zandvoort. Hadjar arrived at that point eighth in the drivers' championship on 68 points, with Lawson ninth on 49.

Autosport also reported that Hadjar had wanted to race and that discussions over a driver change developed in the days before the event, with Racing Bulls informed on Friday of a possible switch. Looking beyond Zandvoort, Motorsport.com reported that Hadjar was hopeful of returning for the Italian Grand Prix. The French driver has made 33 Formula 1 starts across 2025 and 2026, with one podium and a best finish of third, while Lawson has 44 starts from 2023 to 2026 for three teams.
