Belgian Grand Prix 2026: Hadjar penalty report and P6

Reports said Isack Hadjar faced a Belgian Grand Prix 2026 grid penalty, then climbed from 21st to sixth after helping Max Verstappen in qualifying.

Reports before the Belgian Grand Prix said Isack Hadjar was set to start from the back after taking a fifth internal combustion engine, turbocharger and exhaust system of the season, exceeding the allocation of four, according to Autosport. Autosport and RaceFans also reported that Max Verstappen credited Hadjar’s tow in qualifying for helping him secure second on the grid.

In the race, Motorsport.com reported that Hadjar recovered from 21st to sixth at Spa-Francorchamps, with a plan that included two pit visits at the start. RaceFans later reported that Hadjar described it as “probably my best race” for Red Bull.

Hadjar arrived at the event eighth in the drivers’ championship on 60 points. Across 33 Formula 1 starts in 2025 and 2026, the French driver had recorded one podium finish, with third his best result.
