Italian GP 2026: Ferrari engine update reported

Reports say Ferrari will bring an ADUO power-unit update to Monza, while the FIA has declared the 2026 Italian Grand Prix a heat-hazard race.

Ferrari is reported to be bringing an updated power unit to Monza for the 2026 Italian Grand Prix under Formula 1’s ADUO system, according to Autosport. Motorsport.com also reported on Ferrari’s ADUO 2 package, with Oliver Bearman describing its effect for Haas as a smaller step rather than a major change.

Separately, BBC Sport and Autosport reported that the FIA has declared this weekend’s Italian Grand Prix a heat-hazard race after high temperatures in Italy. Autosport added that the measure requires drivers either to wear cooling vests or to run ballast on their cars.

The reported Monza update would be significant at Ferrari’s home event. Ferrari is Formula 1’s Italian constructor and, across 77 seasons from 1950 to 2026, has recorded 250 wins and 16 constructors’ titles.
