Spanish GP 2026: Ferrari runs first laps at Madring
Ferrari became the first F1 team to run at Madring, with Charles Leclerc driving in a filming day before the Spanish Grand Prix in September.
Ferrari completed the first Formula 1 laps at Madrid’s new Madring circuit on Thursday, with Charles Leclerc driving during a filming session, as reported by Formula1.com. The outlet said it was the first time an F1 car had run at the venue.
Before that track outing, Motorsport.com had reported Ferrari was set to become the first team to test at Madring. It also reported the circuit is scheduled to host its first Spanish Grand Prix on 11-13 September.
Leclerc arrived at this point in the 2026 season fourth in the drivers’ championship on 108 points. Ferrari, Formula 1’s 16-time constructors’ champion, has now put the first current F1 car on the new venue as preparations continue for its race debut later this year.
