Those outlets later reported that the mechanic was unhurt, with Ferrari confirming that detail, and said the team was fined 30,000 euro for the unsafe release. RaceFans also reported a Ferrari fine over the incident.

Autosport and Motorsport.com said Hamilton kept fourth place after the Spa race. The British driver went into the event second in the 2026 drivers’ championship on 159 points, and 2026 is his 20th Formula 1 season across McLaren, Mercedes and Ferrari.
