2026 British GP: Ferrari mark 250th win
Charles Leclerc won the 2026 British Grand Prix for Ferrari’s 250th F1 victory, with George Russell second and Lewis Hamilton third at Silverstone.
Charles Leclerc gave Ferrari its 250th Formula 1 win with victory in the 2026 British Grand Prix, as Autosport and Motorsport.com reported. Both outlets said Leclerc passed polesitter Kimi Antonelli at the start and finished ahead of George Russell, with Lewis Hamilton third. Leclerc went into the race fourth in the drivers’ championship on 108 points, while Hamilton was third on 147. The win was the ninth of Leclerc’s F1 career.
Formula1.com reported that Ferrari backed its call to pit Hamilton under the Safety Car, a move that dropped him behind Russell and left him third at the finish. The same outlet said Ferrari also introduced more development items at Silverstone.
After the race, Motorsport.com reported that Ferrari president John Elkann issued a statement following the milestone result. On the wider championship picture, Autosport and Motorsport.com both reported that team principal Fred Vasseur played down title talk and pointed to Ferrari’s inconsistent form across the season.
