Formula1.com reported that the championship was decided as Tuukka Taponen claimed his first F3 victory in Feature Race 2, with Autosport, Motorsport.com and RaceFans also confirming Ugochukwu as champion after the Madring finale.

Autosport and Motorsport.com reported that the title fight had narrowed over the second half of the season to Ugochukwu and Freddie Slater. Those outlets said Campos Racing driver Ugochukwu and Trident rival Slater became the main contenders through their consistency in feature races, and both described Ugochukwu as an outside contender going into the Madrid weekend before he secured the crown on Sunday.
