2027 F1 calendar set for 24 races, 10 sprints

Formula 1’s 2027 plans include a reported 24-race calendar, 10 sprint weekends and a shorter maximum Grand Prix distance of 290km.

Formula 1’s 2027 plans include a 24-race calendar, according to Autosport, which reported that the season will start with the Bahrain Grand Prix on 14 March and finish in Abu Dhabi. The same report said Monaco will be part of an expanded sprint schedule.

BBC Sport reported that Formula 1 will increase the number of sprint weekends from six to 10 in 2027. It also reported that the maximum distance for grands prix will be cut by 15km, from 305km to 290km.

Milan has a small link to Formula 1 history through Milano, an Italian constructor that competed only in the 1950 season. It recorded no race wins, no constructors’ championships and no listed top driver.
