2026 F1 finale: Imola reported as fallback

BBC Sport reported Imola is the leading fallback if Qatar or Abu Dhabi cannot host the 2026 Formula 1 finale, but no switch is confirmed.

BBC Sport reported that Imola is the leading fallback option for Formula 1’s 2026 season finale if either the Qatar Grand Prix or Abu Dhabi Grand Prix cannot go ahead. The outlet did not present any switch as confirmed, only as an emerging contingency for the end of the calendar.

That report followed discussion on The Chequered Flag podcast of a statement from Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali. As reported by BBC Sport, Domenicali said the season would finish in Europe if Qatar or Abu Dhabi could not be staged.

For now, Imola remains a reported option rather than an announced replacement. No date changes, venue confirmation or further calendar details were included in the supplied source.
