Oscar Piastri took pole position for the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix at Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari on 18 May 2025, setting a 1:14.670 lap in Q3. Max Verstappen qualified second for Red Bull, 0.034s slower than Piastri on a 1:14.704.
Qualifying
George Russell secured third for Mercedes with a 1:14.807 in Q3, while McLaren team-mate Lando Norris qualified fourth on 1:14.962. Fernando Alonso took fifth for Aston Martin with a 1:15.431, and Carlos Sainz followed in sixth for Williams on 1:15.432.
Further back in the Q3 order, Alexander Albon put the second Williams seventh with a 1:15.473. Lance Stroll qualified eighth for Aston Martin on 1:15.581, Isack Hadjar took ninth for RB F1 Team with a 1:15.746, and Pierre Gasly completed the top 10 for Alpine F1 Team on 1:15.787.

McLaren placed two cars in the top four with Piastri on pole and Norris fourth on the grid. Williams also put both cars inside the top seven, with Sainz sixth and Albon seventh.
Russell starts from the second row alongside Norris after qualifying third for Mercedes. Aston Martin also placed both entries in Q3, with Alonso fifth and Stroll eighth at Imola.
