Lando Norris won the Dutch Grand Prix 2024 from pole by 22.896s over Max Verstappen, trimming the drivers' championship gap after round 15.
Lando Norris won the Dutch Grand Prix at Circuit Park Zandvoort from pole, beating Max Verstappen by 22.896 seconds. Norris also set the fastest lap with a 1:13.817 on lap 72 as round 15 ended with Verstappen still leading the drivers' championship.
Race
Norris took 26 points for McLaren with a winning time of 1:30:45.519, while Verstappen scored 18 points for Red Bull from second on the grid. Charles Leclerc finished third for Ferrari at +25.439 after starting sixth, and Oscar Piastri placed fourth for McLaren from third on the grid at +27.337.
Carlos Sainz gained five places from 10th on the grid to fifth for Ferrari at +32.137, and Sergio Pérez finished sixth for Red Bull from fifth at +39.542. George Russell started fourth and came home seventh for Mercedes at +44.617, while Lewis Hamilton climbed from 14th to eighth for Mercedes at +49.599.
Key movers
Pierre Gasly finished ninth for Alpine F1 Team from ninth on the grid and was classified one lap down. Fernando Alonso took the final point in 10th for Aston Martin after starting seventh and was also classified as lapped.
Leclerc delivered the highest finish among the front runners relative to his grid spot by moving from sixth to third. Hamilton made up 10 places from 14th to eighth, while Sainz advanced from 10th to fifth.
Championship
Verstappen left Zandvoort leading the drivers' championship with 295 points after his second place. Norris moved to 225 points with the win, and Leclerc stayed third in the standings on 192 points.
