2026 Dutch GP: Antonelli fastest in FP1 at Zandvoort
Andrea Kimi Antonelli led 2026 Dutch Grand Prix FP1 at Zandvoort ahead of Lando Norris and George Russell as teams began work after the break.
Andrea Kimi Antonelli set the pace in first practice for the 2026 Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort. Formula1.com and BBC Sport reported that the Mercedes driver finished ahead of Lando Norris and George Russell, while Autosport and Motorsport.com reported his best lap was 1m12.949s, the only time under 1m13s in the session.
RaceFans reported the track was damp but drying during the running, and Formula1.com said several teams brought upgrades to the Dutch Grand Prix after the summer break. That gave added weight to the opening data from Zandvoort, with Mercedes placing two cars in the top three and McLaren represented by Norris in second.
Antonelli arrived at the weekend leading the drivers' championship on 219 points. Russell sat third on 160, while Norris was fifth on 128.
