Andrea Kimi Antonelli won the Chinese Grand Prix 2026 from pole by 5.515s over George Russell as Mercedes sealed a one-two in round two at Shanghai.

Andrea Kimi Antonelli won the Chinese Grand Prix on 15 March 2026 from pole position at the Shanghai International Circuit, beating George Russell by 5.515 seconds. Mercedes locked out the top two in round two, while Antonelli also set the fastest lap on lap 52.

Race

Antonelli started first and finished first in 1:33:15.607 for Mercedes. Russell started second and finished second for Mercedes at +5.515, while Lewis Hamilton took third for Ferrari from third on the grid at +25.267.

Charles Leclerc finished fourth for Ferrari after starting fourth, 28.894 seconds behind the winner. Oliver Bearman made up five places from 10th on the grid to finish fifth for Haas F1 Team at +57.268, and Pierre Gasly took sixth for Alpine F1 Team after starting seventh.

Liam Lawson climbed from 14th to seventh for RB F1 Team at +1:20.588. Isack Hadjar finished eighth for Red Bull from ninth on the grid, while Carlos Sainz rose from 17th to ninth for Williams and Franco Colapinto took 10th for Alpine F1 Team from 12th, with both classified as lapped.

Championship

Russell left Shanghai leading the drivers' championship with 51 points after two rounds. Antonelli moved to second on 47 points, and Leclerc held third on 34 points.

Fastest lap

Antonelli added the fastest lap to victory with a 1:35.275 on lap 52. The Mercedes driver therefore completed the weekend's key result from pole, race win and fastest lap.
