Oscar Piastri won the Chinese Grand Prix 2025 by 9.748s from Lando Norris, who kept the drivers' championship lead after round 2 at Shanghai.
Oscar Piastri won the Chinese Grand Prix on 23 March 2025 at the Shanghai International Circuit, finishing 9.748 seconds ahead of Lando Norris. Norris took second for McLaren and set the fastest lap in 1:35.454 on lap 53.
Race
Piastri started from pole position and completed the race in 1:30:55.026 for McLaren. George Russell finished third for Mercedes at 11.097 seconds, while Max Verstappen took fourth for Red Bull at 16.656 seconds.
Further back, Esteban Ocon scored 10 points for Haas F1 Team by climbing from 11th on the grid to fifth at 49.969 seconds. Andrea Kimi Antonelli finished sixth for Mercedes from eighth on the grid, and Alexander Albon took seventh for Williams after starting 10th.
Standout movers
Oliver Bearman made up nine places for Haas F1 Team, rising from 17th on the grid to eighth and finishing 1:01.303 behind the winner. Lance Stroll gained five positions from 14th to ninth for Aston Martin, and Carlos Sainz moved from 15th to 10th to take the final point for Williams.
Championship
After round 2, Norris led the drivers' championship on 44 points despite finishing second in Shanghai. Verstappen held second in the standings on 36 points, and Russell sat third on 35.
