Jamie Chadwick completed her first Williams Formula 1 test at Portimao. Formula1.com reported that the Williams ambassador became the first woman in more than a decade to test one of the team’s F1 cars, while RaceFans said the outing took place at the Autodromo do Algarve in Portugal.
Autosport and Motorsport.com reported that Chadwick, 28, covered 32 laps on Monday in the FW47, Williams’ previous car, during a Testing of Previous Cars programme. Both outlets said the run formed part of her duties as a development driver for the team.
The test was described by the reported sources as Chadwick’s first Williams F1 outing. Jonathan Williams, by contrast, raced once in Formula 1 in 1967 for Ferrari and recorded a best finish of eighth.
