Cadillac F1 lineup clues emerge in BBC series

News - 2026-07-14 - By Jenny Marsh

BBC Sport’s Cadillac F1 series points to Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Perez at the new team, but Cadillac has not confirmed its 2026 lineup.

BBC Sport’s Cadillac-focused Chequered Flag series has added to reports around the new team’s 2026 driver plans, without providing official confirmation. In episode summaries published by the broadcaster, one instalment says Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Perez return for Cadillac, while the wider series follows the team’s build-up to its first Formula 1 season in 2026.

The BBC listings also place Andrea Kimi Antonelli and Ollie Bearman at the centre of several episodes, including visits to Cadillac’s factory, a race simulation, the start of the car build and the 2026 car running on track. That indicates they are key figures in the programme, but not confirmed race drivers for Cadillac. Bottas brings 256 Formula 1 entries, 10 wins, 19 poles and 67 podiums, and he is 20th in the 2026 drivers’ championship on 0 points. Antonelli, who is also featured prominently in the series, leads the standings on 179 points after 33 starts, with five wins, five poles and 10 podiums. Separately, Motorsport.com reported that Perez linked his Cadillac return to a wish to prove himself after his Red Bull exit.
