British Grand Prix 2026: Antonelli takes pole
Andrea Kimi Antonelli took pole at Silverstone for the British Grand Prix 2026, beating Charles Leclerc by 0.175s as Ferrari and Mercedes filled the top four.
Andrea Kimi Antonelli took pole position for the British Grand Prix 2026 at Silverstone Circuit with a Q3 lap of 1:28.111. Charles Leclerc qualified second for Ferrari on 1:28.286, 0.175s behind the Mercedes driver.
Qualifying
Lewis Hamilton put the second Ferrari third with a 1:28.458 in Q3, while George Russell qualified fourth for Mercedes on 1:28.481. That left Ferrari and Mercedes occupying the first two rows for round 9 on 5 July 2026.
Isack Hadjar secured fifth for Red Bull with a 1:28.746, and Lando Norris took sixth for McLaren on 1:28.877. Max Verstappen qualified seventh for Red Bull with a 1:28.893, while Oscar Piastri placed eighth for McLaren on 1:29.032.
Front row
Antonelli progressed through Q1 in 1:29.719 and Q2 in 1:28.493 before setting the pole lap in Q3. Leclerc opened with a 1:29.534 in Q1 and improved to 1:28.626 in Q2 before his 1:28.286 final effort.
Top 10 grid
Arvid Lindblad qualified ninth for RB F1 Team with a Q3 time of 1:29.305 after laps of 1:29.661 in Q1 and 1:29.324 in Q2. Liam Lawson completed the top 10 for RB F1 Team on 1:29.716 in Q3, following a 1:29.300 in Q1 and a 1:29.429 in Q2.
